I just started my 440 (wrong engine, but a good one for power!) and used "Joe Gibbs break in oil". I has all the needed Zink compounds or whatever it is that needed to be there on break in's. If you don't have it (Zn) your cam will go FLAT quickly. Somehow it imbedes in the surface and helps it last under wear.

I just had my F engine rebuilt and the engine shop recommends an oil with
sufficient amount of ZDDP, like Valvoline VR1 racing oil.

get the 300F out of winter storage and ready for the road. One of the first
things to do is an oil change. Is Rotella still the oil of preference for
