RE: [Chrysler300] fs air cleaner for cross ram car

No one is going to paint them red, and then put factory stickers on it, …..right? Think about that. Paint job was factory type quality, not a do it yourself.     I think both happened…

But admit to only the experience , not absolute knowing.

I bought my first letter car, a Ram K, in 1981. It had gold air cleaners that appeared to have never been painted, so I’ll go with gold too.

The Club server has a reference picture of a ram K engine with Chrysler’s blue-green intake manifold and gold air cleaners.  Is there any consensus that these are the proper colors for 1964, 300K, 390 HP, short-ram, exhaust-heated intake systems?

On the 300J, I have seen red, gold, chrome (incorrect) and at least one with red bases and gold covers; owner claimed it came that way from new (car had been in the family).  George R said only red was correct for the J but I disagree based on evidence seen to date.  I suspect the factory used what was available in the parts bin including possible leftovers from the F/G.

Fern

What color are those air cleaners suppose to be? A hammertone Gold? Or what? Since you have one too many I thought you might know, thanks in advance for any help. Good luck selling your spare.

I have one lonely round air cleaner for cross ram car which is surplus to my needs. I presume that these were identical in all cross ram cars including 1960 and 1961 as well as 1963 and 1964. It's approximately 11" diameter and spacing between the top bolts is about 4 inches.

Asking $225 for it plus shipping.   Fern
