Re: [Chrysler300] 300C sick auo trans help needed

Hi Chris,
You probably either broke the band, or the seal on the reverse servo failed. Either way, you will have to drop the pan and look at things. Most of the low reverse seals being sold these days are to big. If they are forced into the bore, they will eventually flip over and quit sealing. The rear band can be changed with the trans in the car. You would have to remove the extension housing and the rear gear train to do it. Best left to a trans shop if you are not familiar with these transmissions.

After owning my first 300C for just under 35 yrs, and in last weeks fixing few last annoying things, and getting dual carbs really sorted after being amazed at multople big things I found wrong with both of them, and just now the car going like all hell - seeming way faster than it should    ----        ALL OF A SUDDEN I HAVE LOST REVERSE !!!!

The car tries to back up, you can feel/sense something spinning in trans under tunnel, but only if you push on flat ground, will it then move real slow. Trans fluid full, and is still clean/red, and the trans was fully rebuilt maybe only few thousand miles ago, has/had real good sharp upshifts. But only as carbs now sorted, have I now/lately really run it hard up through revs/gears maybe 5-8 times total in last few weeks - it feels like car would run high 15s, which seems quicker than expected, but motor/exhaust not still fully stock, but not radicaaly higher hp.

aussie Chris in cold/wet Australia here in southern parts the last 5 weeks
