Re: [Chrysler300] 1965 300L Hardtop 4 speed

I can tell this car is from PA: It has snow tires on it.

We learned in Driver Training (1970) that a manual gearbox is better in snow because you have better throttle control.

My family bought all their cars at Reedman, back in the day. They shopped locally in the Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton area then went to Reedman for the best deal.

Happy Moparing,
Mark

I ran across this car while at fall Carlisle and managed to get the data plate info and Vin number to Don and Gloria, it turns out this is an unknown car. I looked the car over quickly and it seems pretty solid but I did not get under it.  I looked in the trunk and the floor appears solid, I also felt the trunk extensions and they felt solid as well.  Like I said I did not get it up on a lift to look at the floor pans as it was getting dark and I was on my way out to leave for home. I do not personally know this guy but have seen him vending at Carlisle. I have spoken to him several time on the phone, his name is Rob and he has been very pleasant, he asked a lot of questions about the car and sourcing for parts, as he may do the body work on it this winter. One of the companies he owns makes and  sells the fiberglass hoods for a lot of GM and Ford applications. He is a registered used car dealer and owns a restoration shop in Warminster PA oddly enough where the Hurst Shifter for this car was made and where it is currently located. He is the second owner and got the car from the original owner after it was sitting in a barn since 1973. It has 68k on it now and looks to be correct, not 168k. The engine does not run and he wants to sell it rather than restore it as he does not know Chryslers. It is listed on Craigslist and as of yesterday EBay, take a look at the  pictures and call him directly if you are interested. He has got offers to sell it overseas but would like the car to stay in the states if possible. It is an interesting car as it has no options and a real nice color combination. It does not look like it would take much to get it to run and all the important parts are there as you can see in the images. The fender skirts and right mirror are in the trunk. It was sold new at Reedman Chrysler in Langhorne PA. What is with all these four speed cars that are located in PA, or came from PA? My car was sold new in the Glenfield PA area right up the road from this one.
