Re: [Chrysler300] Update - Spark & Fuel - No Start

Start fluid evaporated, probably not a detectable trace in the oil.  Not to worry.

Oil in the cylinders through spark plug holes is a good idea, but I would blow compressed air into each after oiling to aid in distributing it over the cyls.  When squirted in with oil can it will all puddle at the low point atop the piston and much of the cyl will remain dry when cranking.

I think you have some valves a bit sticky or stuck from running it occasionally with old fuel that was becoming progressively more decomposed.  When burned the old fuel can leave a gummy, sticky deposit that doesn't interfere with operation while the engine is warm, but when cooled the valve stems and guides are sticky.  In severe cases this can happen with unburned fuel, thus it's possible for intake valves to get sticky too.  In some cases a stuck valve can cause a push rod to fall out of place and no longer operate the valve properly or not at all.  Mechanical interferences can result in bent pushrods, damaged rockers, damaged springs, damaged valves, and even damaged pistons.
I wish I could hear it cranking for a better diagnosis of your trouble, but at this point it seems that you need to remove rocker covers and begin to check for freedom of valve operation.  If you are lucky enough to get it running without further work you might consider spraying an aerosol carburetor cleaner into the intake air while the engine is running.  That substance will help remove gummy deposits from the valve stems.  Then you should continue to run it for several miles without allowing a complete cool-down so that everything is well lubricated and hopefully the gum is flushed away.  These steps absolutely do work and I've done this on many occasions in my small engine service career.   The small engine work is plagued with poorly handled fuels.

Ryan refreshed my memory.

Before doing this, have you changed your oil and filter ? That is a must, since the oil is diluted with starter fluid.

Thanks for all who had suggestions. Reconfirmed all the ignition and fuel is ok. Started pulling plugs and was only able to get my compression tester into 4 of the eight holes; two on each head. I've only got between 30-50 psi. I guess it's good news that I didn't find any zero readings.  Gonna run some marvel mystery oil in there, cycle it over the next couple nights then re test compression.

Any other thoughts?

Thanks,
Mike
