​Several years I bought a 35 Ford Panel Delivery from a museum and fixed all relatively minor problems and began to use it.  No problems until the next summer after it was stored for more than six months.  Ran poorly so disassembled it's original Stromberg carburetor.  Not only were the O rings and gaskets damaged some were totally gone!  It has now been good for many years.

 

I have a farm and my bulk fuel delivery company is happy to provide all the non Ethanol gas I am willing to pay for.

 

By the way, Antique Auto Parts Cellar has ethanol resistant rebuild kits for any pump you can disassemble.

 

I just read in Autoweek mag Jay Leno's essay on the evils of ethanol.  In my 300F I have been running a mix of 100+ octane leaded aviation gas and pump premium spiked with the normal amount of ethanol.  Has anybody in the Club experienced any problems with today's ethanol-infused gas?  Jay talks about rubber parts (in fuel pumps, for example) being eaten up and ensuing engine fires.  Terry McTaggart
