Re: [Chrysler300] 300H starter motor

The absolute best starter is the one that came on your car.  It fits properly and if there are shims involved you simply reuse them.  This works the best if you have a reputable rebuilder in your area.

Fortunately I have one in my area that has been in business for more than 40 years.  I have used them for many starters, generators, and alternators and they always perform admirably.

I bought one for my ’64 300K from O’Reilly’s for about $37.  It works fine and I was glad to get a good piece of equipment for a 300 over the counter and for less than an arm and a leg.

Thanks to all for the good humor an patience with me and my somewhat independent computer.  I just wish the computer worked as reliably as the starter!  One guy even compared my e-mail fiasco to Hilly-Bob’s.

Can someone recommend where to get the best starter motor for this car?
