Re: [Chrysler300] H4sale

I called Park Place Ltd yesterday and got the data stamped on the block:
S 41; 10-23 & HP - so engine appears to be correct. (data plate says build date wa 11-1.)

That’s what I figured

Car has been repainted a non stock 300H color and does not have a 999 paint code.

So here we have one of the rarest 300 letter cars EVER PRODUCED and someone wants to screw with it and expect to get BIG BUCK$ for it after???

oooooOOOOOOKAAAYYeeee

Would love to see some under hood pictures….no….wait….

Would love to see it entered in OUR concourse and just stand off to one side with a tape recorder!!

That would be a hoot, for sure!

Whatever!

The colors on the Chrysler order list for the H model were
Formal Black (BB1)
Festival Red (PP1)
Oyster White (WW1)
and
Caramel (ZZ1)

That doesn't mean another color couldn't have been special ordered.
But if so, the body data tag would indicate it.

Just for kicks, the colors available on the other Chrysler models included

Dawn Blue (CC1)
Sapphire Blue (DD1)
Willow Green (FF1)
Sage Green (GG1)
Bermuda Turquoise (JJ1)
Limelight (LL1)
Dove Gray (MM1)
Coral Gray (TT1)
Seascape (VV1)
Rosewood (YY1)

Was the current green color that car now “sports” even an option for ’62??

This car has a 300H VIN. We first show it in 1993 owned by a member of the INC club. ZZ-1 indicates it was Caramel from the factory. It hit eBay in 2001 and apparently has remained on the auction circuit ever since. Some cars have a sad life that way but they are normally repainted red - auction red. Should someone see the car, take a snapshot of the body plate and that should answer some of our questions.

This H is going through the auction circuit and sadly, like so many others, the price escalates. It sold at the Mecum Rogers Collection auction in Feb. for $47,000 (a bargain, perhaps?). The buyer evidently jettisoned the correct H wheels/wheelcovers that it had in the Feb auction and installed incorrect repop wire wheels (N/A for ‘62 obviously) and ran the car through the Mecum Seattle auction just this month where it was a no sale at $72,500. Funny how making the car more incorrect raised the value LOL. What did P.T. Barnum say? Well, he is known for a few quotes and more than one may apply here. Looks to me like this “flipper” is going for a ludicrous profit, but he/she has every right to do so. Onward and upward!

I think that "Yikes" is an appropriate response.

I was taken aback when I read that number as well!

I have an H Hardtop to restore. I know once restored it won't bring half of that (although not planning to sell it).

I also like how the ad reads that the Interior is Tan, yet the pictures show a nice shade of green.
