I think media blasting . I dipped a car once .. It gets into all the sheet metal folds . Mess . More to the point , after big splash many years ago -- now out of Business around Boston. 4-5 cars done by blasting ( has to be smart guy) leaves almost ready to paint or do body work --where good and gves a tooth to the surface . Paint sticks . Your mileage may vary
