[Chrysler300] Wheels and tires

Replacing my 4 steel wheels and tires on my 300k, then putting my “J” caps back in service.  What color was the outer wheel lip painted in ’63? 

 

Also, I am having custom white walls cut (The Tire Surgeon, Chicago), and want to make sure those are as close to “correct” as possible.  3/8”?  Guidelines for placement? 

 

For the curious, I am using 15” x 8” wheels with 225/70 tires up front, 15” x 10” wheels with 275/60 tires in back.
