[Chrysler300] RE: 1955 Chrysler 300 Motor / VIN# 3N551905

Hello George,

I'm a little familiar with the car.   I did a little research on it a while back.  Your car (VIN# 3N551905) was in Harrah's collection for a period of time and another claim to fame is that it was used as one of the photo cars for an article in Auto Quarterly (Vol. 13, # 4) during the 1980s.  I believe it was in the Harrah's collection at the time of the shoot.
I've also talked to Gil Cunningham about this car and it's build records.  The last owner said it was a factory manual car, but talking with Gil, he determined this car to have been a factory Automatic car when new.  The car was a documented A/T car when it was first brought into the Harrah's collection.  I would guess it was converted to a stick just before being sold by Harrah's or just after.
The car was extremely clean and in excellent shape for it's age.  I'd suggest you obtain a copy of the build sheet (if you haven't already) and just verify everything.  I've got some other information and possible leads as well if you are interested.  I'd love to help you out with anything.  Just shoot over an email.   It's a great, solid car and can't wait to see your progress on it.   Neat to see a car come back into the fold after 30 years in storage.

I just purchased a 1955 Chrysler 300 that's been in storage for about 30 years, car is rather odd because it has no options,  and a manual transmission and radio delete. vehicle is in great condition except someone stole the heads, carbs, and air cleaner. I would like to return it back to stock condition so if anyone knows where I can purchase any of the things I need your help would be greatly appreciated. I do know this car was in the Harrah's collection at one time in the past and found pictures of it how it left the factory, so i'm trying to find out it's history any suggestions would really help.   George B.
