The 300G does not cycle the compressor like the early units, and the controls are completely different. Probably an overheated vacuum electrical switch, that shorted out internally. Check the back side of the switch and see if it is deformed from heat. Could also be a short in the wiring, or a problem with the low speed resister in the engine compartment.

Another thing to test is exactly when the fuse blows. If you turn your stat of OFF and it still blows, your problem is somewhere in the dash controls or power supply dead-shorting. But if it only happens when you demand the compressor, you can suspect the stat arcing or else a short in the single wire leading from the dash to the compressor.

             Just had a new receiver/drier installed yesterday. The mechanic advised the air was nice and cold. Now the 25 amp fuse keeps blowing every time I snap in a new one ! Any thoughts as to the reason ?
