Re: [Chrysler300] Lazenby post

I don't think having a Facebook page is a bad idea, not at all. But I don't believe Facebook should supplant the list server. It could be, and should be (if deployed), ancillary to a forum and the list server. The list server could become a notice-supplying mechanism.

One negative, however, is that it will increase the maintenance duties and responsibilities of whoever is/those in charge of maintaining the club's Internet sites.

Some do use Facebook. It's a good avenue for the public to see and learn about the club and the cars. My local Jeep club uses it and we've doubled our membership simply due to the exposure. We have our page set up to limit posts to club members only, but the public can visit any time.

A forum, I think, would be our best option. The Forward Look Network has a good example. Just Google "forward look forum" to see their page.

A forum would work -- hadn't thought about that -- good suggestion. Facebook, however. is not a good idea -- not at all. You would probably be surprised at how many people do not use Facebook at all. Yours truly included. **One reason** is that Facebook does far too much tracking of their members' movements around the Internet.

A forum link on our website would be one option. Another would be a usable Facebook page. Just sayin’.
