Re: [Chrysler300] 1962 Rear Axle

Hi Charlie:  When we restored our 1962 300H convertible, we swapped out the rear end housing with one from a 1965 new yorker so ended up with 11X3 drum brakes in the back. The original 3:23 sure grip fit right into new housing.
My recollection is that the new housing was only 1/2 an inch wider.

Hi Group,

I'm tired of fighting with the tapered rear axle assembly, as well as the "finiky" brakes in my 62. Does anyone know which Mopar rear axle will swap in. I'm probably going to install all wheel disc brakes in the near future as well. Comments appreciated. Thanks, Charlie in Ottawa.
