Re: [Chrysler300] Using the listserver to actively sell parts

I don't personally mind if we see some ads on the forum such as we do from Mr. Schwandt, as long as they are not so numerous as to be an annoying load on the Inbox. Deleting is quick. But I would like to suggest that the link to our Club website For Sale page be noted down in the bottom block of all of the forum posts. It would make it a convenient and quick one-click ride for those looking to buy or sell parts.

Like this:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To visit the Chysler 300 Club Intl. "For Sale" page go to http://www.chrysler300club.com/rcmstuff/partsforsale.html

For list server instructions, go to http://www.chrysler300club.com/yahoolist/inst.htm

For archives go to http://www.forwardlook.net/300-archive/search.htm#querylang

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was amazed - as a rare visitor to the page - by how few ads (22!) there are on the page. So maybe providing the link will make it a more popular place to use for the sharing of our parts.

To all: most members are aware of this, but as a reminder we do have a classified ad section for parts on the website that the whole world can see (for broad exposure), and photos can be included as well http://www.chrysler300club.com/rcmstuff/partsforsale.html

As far as the listserver goes, if the parts ads are applicable to Chrysler 300s, then they should be appropriate content per the listserver rules.

 To All
I agree with Ray, just delete what you don't want to look at. I like to see the interesting, rare, obscure and unobtainable stuff available from this site, even if I don't need it. I have purchased some things I didn't know was available until I saw them, to me that's a plus. I personally like this site. IMHO.

Personally I don't mind - unless it gets a lot more frequent that it currently is - but if there were a Classified section on this site, that would be fine too as long as its easily accessible - I find it cumbersome to log onto the yahoo site.

Anyone else, besides me, prefer not to receive an email every time David has something to sell?  And then, another email when it is no longer for sale (gasp).  I find it tedious and intrusive, and not a good use of the forum.

“Hey, I need an obscure part for my E”:  Just fine for mass distribution (until our forum works like other bulletin boards, and not everyone sees everything anybody sends).

Hey, I have an obscure part to sell for ’61-‘64s”:  Not ok.  This belongs in a classified section somewhere else, like on a website.
