RE: [Chrysler300] Mecum Auction Results

Well, as long as we are nitpicking: in addition to previously mentioned items, I notice a few more incorrect details under the hood – power steering reservoir cap, master cylinder cover, alternator pulley, and the base of the auto-pilot unit should all be painted black, the battery terminals are incorrect, the plug wire boots at the distributor cap should be straight not 90 degree and #1 boot should be red, the A/C compressor tag is missing, and the area behind the grille on the radiator support should be painted black so that the red paint is not seen through the grille (on most cars at least), and maybe the fuel pump should be painted engine color. All easily corrected details.

The correct whitewall width for the H is 1&1/16” or 1&1/8” same as the J.

Thanks Doug, I did not realize the restorer was an expert and certainly don’t want to criticize his work.
I am constantly looking for things different from my car to great correct examples and I have made changes over the years to my car because of that.
I have several things “odd” on my car -such as my electric) booster) fuel pump, my electric choke, my camshaft etc.
My blue coil and orange ignition wires as well as my mechanical distributor have all been replaced though!

Hi Mike,
My 8 were : radiator cap, hose clamps, hardware bolts attaching fenders and hood springs, wire wheels, wide white walls, painted hood latch assembly, wheel wells without undercoating and no drivers heel pad assembly.
I will take another look at the antenna location.

Hey Doug,
I’d love to know your answers!
1.  heater and radiator  hose clamps incorrect.
2. I question wire wheels  being correct
3. red hood springs ?
4. ignition wire loom separators wrong on pass side
5. rad cap wrong
6. air cleaner cover wing nuts and shaft painted.
7. air filter decals likely wrongly applied
8. Needs Bendix sticker on cruise control
9. Rear location of antenna-looks too far forward to me

I think it’s a very nice car though.
