I think Simple Green will be highly effective. Then a good flush with water. Let dry and you're good to go.

  Thanks for your good suggestions.  I would like to try to use some heat as I continue this undercoating removal.  The inner and outer fenders are off the car so I could apply some heat from the outside of the fender and thereby avoid applying heat directly to the undercoating.  Aside from trying to use paper towels  or pads to absorb any free petroleum solvents I already put on the undercoating, or just letting the solvents evaporate for a few days, are there other direct neutralization measures you know of for the PB Blaster, Liquid Wrench, and kerosene I've put on the undercoating.

  Carlton - Rent a heat gun from one of those Rent-All places. They usually charge about $30/day. The heat that these hand-held furnaces give off is enough to soften the hardest undercoating in seconds. Then just scrape it off with a paint scraper. 


  I stripped heavy undercoating from the inner fenders of my 59 Dodge in about two hours. BTW, be sure you neutralize all the petroleum-based chemicals that you used, or you'll have a fire on your hands.

    Hello from the very snowy and very cold Northwood's of Wisconsin,

    (and Eagle River, home of the World Championship Snowmobile Derby)


    I am currently in the middle of the very unpleasant job of removing old and hard but very well attached old undercoating on my 300H. The bottom of the car is complete (sand blasted and painted although there was not much undercoating left) so it is only the inner and outer fenders (with thicker undercoating) that I need to clean of undercoating.  The fellow who will be painting is reluctant to try to sand blast it off so I am using PB Blaster, Liquid Wrench, and kerosene to soften and then scrap off the undercoating.    I'm working in about 50F temp in my garage so I could probably warm up (kerosene tube heater) the fenders further if that would help.  Or if there are stronger solvents that don't evaporate too quickly, that would probably help too.

    I'll appreciate all suggestions.
