Your problem sounds like what I went through. 
I had spent  lot of time and money trying to get my H to run cool. 
I was adjusting the timing one day and suddenly realized  that despite what the gauge said, the engine was NOT running hot. I had also noticed that my oil pressure usually dropped as my temp went up. 
There is an instrument voltage regulator built in to either the temp or the oil pressure gauge  and it was bad.  I fixed the gauge and I had low temp and high oil pressure.
