Re: [Chrysler300] Tires 300K

Harry - another consideration, albeit somewhat pricier, this spring I bought 5 Diamondbacks for my '66 300. You can order the tire brand, size and sidewall style tailored for your car. I went with Goodrich TA's with a 3/4" whitewall. They look really good on the Patriot Blue car. I considered redlines, but decided they wouldn't look right with the original wheel covers.

The 5th tire is a just in case - given how few miles I put on the car, these tires should outlast me. If one gets damaged 5 years from now, and the tread pattern is no longer available, I don't have a matching problem.

I also have Diamondbacks on a no name GS455. They're redline Michelins; after 10 years and about 4,000 miles, they're still like new. No signs of any sidewall cracking or deterioration; however, it's never very hot here and the car is always garaged.

Mark (awesome summer in Calgary so far!)

Hankook Optimo H724 P225/75R15 - should be able to find under $75 each
on eBay or from Direct Tire. 5/8 inch whitewall. The 225/75R15 will be
slightly narrower and same overall diameter and load capability as
235/70R15. Additionally the H724 are a bit narrower tread (5 1/2 inch
nominally) compared to other 225/75R15 such as Nexen AH5 and 235/75
which generally run 5 3/4 (Hankook) to 6 1/4 (Toyo). Not sure about 8
inch rims - I have them mounted on 6 inch rims.
