[Chrysler300] 57 58 392 Engine oil line" block to gauge"

The subject is the Oil line from the block to the cluster gauge on 57 and 58 392 Hemis.

As I continue with the assembly of my 58 D, I had to fabricate a new steel oil line from the L-fitting on the back of the block near the distributor to a point in the air on the other side of the block. At this point the steel tube ends and a flex oil line tube ( courtesy of Gary) connects via a tube nut and continues up and then a sudden reverse turn down and through a hole in the dash panel.  Once inside the car it is routed up again to the back of the right cluster pod.  That is all well and good but I am a little concerned with the amount of free play this steel line has and then the rout of the flexible oil line.   It is funny that it goes up for an inch or two and then makes a sharp turn down. It would both seem like a straighter rout would have been configured and also that a bracket of some kind should hold the steel tube in place but there is nothing on either of my cars...C or D.   Anybody else think it is a bit weird to let the block-to-gauge oil line float like that without some attachment to the block?
