RE: [Chrysler300] 57-58 gas tanks from Vansauto.com

Hi Marv,

Merle Wolfer bought his 1957-58 gas tank  from Vans Auto according to Merle Wolfer’s  listing of Parts Suppliers, Page85 of his “Restoring A Letter Series 300” .

It has probably been discussed before so forgive me but what is the consensus on a new gas tank from Vans.....for $275 it seems like an easy solution to an old tank..

They say it is made from galvanized steel like the original but I seem to remember from my stamping days at Chrysler that we used something else for a coating to allow the deep draws without splitting in the corners of the tanks.  The tank looks to be like the original and is 23 gallons.  If someone has purchased one of these, does it have the inner baffles and a bottom drain like the original?
Thanks

Marv
