Fires are still raging - The Tubbs fire (the one that hit Santa Rosa) is only 10% contained and is 2 miles north of Calistoga which has been evacuated.

The Atlas fire on the East side of Napa is currently 27% contained and apparently not threatening the city - however the air is not breathable without special masks. My daughter and kids have been here since Tuesday and don't plan on going back very soon. Napa Valley J.C. where daughter and son-inlaw teach is a evacuation center and will be closed at least until the 23rd. 

High winds are expected tonight.

Subject: [Chrysler300] Northern CA Firestorm.

 

I just called Bruce Toelle of Santa Rosa.   His neighborhood was evacuated last night and they are safe at their son’s home in Sacramento.  At this time, he believes his home is OK. 

 

Roads are jammed, motels are full, people are dying, houses and vineyards (and marijuana fields) are being torched with little control and vehicles are being melted down.  Winds were wicked here for a while last night, but we are far from the fire zone and smoke is light.  The fire is changing much of the landscape north of here.
