Re: [Chrysler300] Re: 1963/64 300 hardtop rear package shelf/tray

Keith,
My 64 seat backs were factory vinyl or vulcanized.
I am a Chemical Eng.

I tried the best custom mix, a lot of fish eyes,
Best to lightly sand blast both backs, find the pearlescent coating to match from the local
Powder coating specialist,  electrostatic coating process.
Perfect match, one time application, will pass Concourse due to no Judge knows better than this, 64 K 4 Spd owner.

That is the real deal, and when sunlight shines, seat backs glimmer.

Real.

Thanks, Jamie

Bob M. told me that the '63 and '64' s are different, which surprised me! I ended up covering mine with black headliner material and it came out quite nice. (My package tray was intact but brittle - I gave it multiple costs of black appliance epoxy to reinforce it prior to covering.)

It is on our list of reproduction projects that we are looking into doing as no one makes them , or the 63’s, which are different from the 64’s we found. Our member Bob Baker of ABC Moparts has the resources to do this project and is investigating making them, but no idea of when that project will be started.  Again it is based on the whole concept of supply verse demand, and costs.
