RE: [Chrysler300] 1964 convert stainless windshield trim removal for polishing

There is lots of good information on the ’64 Chrysler 300 convertible top at:  http://www.jholst.net/64-service-manual/body.pdf`Pages 49-56.  Failure to properly seal the top header to the windshield top rail will result in water intrusion if you should happen to be caught in any kind of precipitation.

I'm thinking of removing my convert windshield stainless trim, has anyone done this, it looks like a rubber piece is under the top part, I would have a body shop do the removal and reinstall, has anyone done this?
