Re: [Chrysler300] Electric Window Motors ...................................................................................

Tom;
I've  not worked on a E, but these motors are basically all the same and work the same way.
Several ways to remove them, but keep in mind they are spring assisted.
The scissor lift ass'y, has a powerful coil spring, which counter balances the glass weight which helps the motor work.
There-in lies the danger. If you take the motor out and leave the mechanism and glass in, place a 2X4 in the door first, to support the glass from dropping down on your pinky's.

If you remove the glass and then remove the ass'y with the motor on it. You have to lock the scissor before removing the motor. I have drilled a hole through a arm and the frame of the ass'y. and bolted them together. No big deal, just prevents it from unloading. Or you can use big vice grips or a C clamp.
If you DON'T do this, and remove the 3 bolts holding the motor to the frame, when you pull the motor off, the scissors will violently unload.  This can mangle  fingers or dent skulls (ask how I know!).

Good evening everybody out there in 300 Land!!!

Couple of questions:

(1)   How difficult is it to remove the electric window motors out of a 300E?  Any tips: and
(2)   Once removed, who do you recommend sending these motors to for a rebuild?

Thanks in advance for your responses!

Sincerely,
