RE: [Chrysler300] Updating Interior + Lighting

John,

Quirey Quality Design has taken over making 300 interiors and parts from Gary Goers.  Here is the link:

As far as the dash lighting, the problem could be the headlight switch, the power pack that converts 12 VDC to 200 VAC, or a short in the output that will cause all the lights to not light.  If the lights come on at all when you turn the pull out the headlight switch and rotate the dimmer, the problem is in the switch and it needs to be removed and serviced.  If completely dead than you have to eliminate all 3 causes by process of elimination.  The power pack is up under the dash mounted under the cowl on the left side. The headlight switch is not easy to get out, but start with the pull out switch, the knob can be removed by pressing in the release button on the switch itself and pulling on the knob while pushing the button.  Once removed,  you  unscrew the switch bezel and remove the switch for service once unplugged from the harness.

JC Auto services both the switch and the powerpack:

Subject: [Chrysler300] Updating Interior + Lighting

Hello!

Our 300G has worn front seats and our boss has told us that he wants to dye them to cover up some of the wear.  We have had great success doing this to other cars, in which we did the seats, door panels and dash.   I have known that our seats are repros, and I have been told that the person that was producing those repros does not do that anymore. The weird thing is, upon further investigation yesterday, I discovered that the rear seat covers are original, not repros.

The reason that we dyed the interior of the other cars was to save money. We have a 55 Pontiac in which we used SMS to provide new seat covers and door panels.  They are excellent, but very expensive. So now I am thinking, that if we don't have to replace the rear seats, it may be cost-effective to just replace the front two.  So, is there anyone that is currently making seat cover repros, and if so, are they of good quality?

Also, I have an electrical question.  Our "Astrodome" lights do not work, nor do the radio nor clock lights.  We have seen the diagnostic sheet put out by the club, and that sheet indicates that the light switch is not working. So does JUST the switch have to be replaced, or is there another part to it?  Where is that switch located? And are there any available anywhere?

Thanks,

John
