Be very aware of the coil spring coming lode. It can take fingers off and worse. Tremendous energy is there.
If out and on your bench, clamp the arm to the framework before removing the winder gear set.
this applies to power windows also. Safest bet is to drill thru thr arm and frame and bolt them together.

With the inner door panel off, I can access the hand crank ( original crank/ gear has side to sidewear.)
It seems to be a split unit, with 3 rivets holding it to inside assembly.

Has anyone drilled the rivets and installed a crank/gear with no side slop?

Plenty of time to get details corrected,   be safe.
