Those from snow country will understand that ’55 door handles were replaced with stronger units n 1956 since the ’55 handles were subject to unintended removal if the door had iced up of a winter night. Dunno about variances in Cd. May have been a complete door replacement from bottomless Kiekhaefer stock.

You're correct, about the '56 door handles. Although, closely examining the Kieckhaefer B on display at The Henry Ford, you'll see that Carl retained the '56-style door handle on the left door, but replaced with the '55-style handle on the right door. He likely thought the '55 was more aerodynamic. John Begian and I checked it out at the June '18 Motor Muster held in Greenfield Village - first time that B had run in 8 years, and it sounded great!
