RE: [Chrysler300] 1961 300G

Chris,

Does the car have A/C? The way I accessed the ignition switch on my 300F was to remove the radio speaker from the top of the dash. Then reach down through the hole. You can get new lock cylinders to fit the ignition switch. If you don’t have a key, you’ll have to grind down the brass button that releases it from the switch housing. A locksmith may be able to make a new key from it before you do that, then you’ll probably have a key for the doors if they’re matching.

Where do you live, maybe another member can come and help you?

Nick.

So I've never had an ignition key for this car. I tried like crazy to remove the ignition from the dash but was unable, I'm still dealing with a left hand injury now for over two years... It was very difficult to get it back in the dash at all...  Does anyone have any tips or ideas to make another key or something else work? I've tried many old chrysler keys with no luck. I know I can start it without a key but I will keep and drive it alot so I need an actual key. I could cram a screwdriver in there? Drill it out and hope to be able to put in a new one? Pay a locksmith $250.00 to come and make a key? Just thought I'd ask all you pros... Thanks in advance!
