I used a 1" x  3/4  Oak strip and the basin trim tools.

Worked that strip a bit at a time.

Question: is there a putty sealer used inside the rail, or just paint?

We had good luck using the old ‘Snap-on’ drum on transmission style emergency brake adjusting tool and a paint stick to protect the roof paint and body. I am sure there are other ways but this did work on several we removed on our old cars in storage for parts, in the last few months. Rick

i need to remove    upper / outer  trim on drip rail; edge.

 

Who has the easy way out?   I removed sealer and paint inside the drip channel.
