I saw this car at a worldwide auction I think it was in Arizona a couple of years ago, it’s really really nice. I bid on it but jumped off somewhere in the mid to high 40s. If I recall it sold for around 60.

I learned of that car over 30 years ago. It is legitimate with the special order interior. If memory serves me, the Merricks (Merritts) and Schlegels were friends/related to James Bennett of Tillamook. There was a bunch of 300Es in that area back then. James restored the red 300E that I have owned since 1981. James and his wife graciously entertained my future wife and I in their home in 1992.
