Re: {Chrysler 300} '66 Chrysler 300 Package Shelf

I would love a non cracked package shelf for my 65 2 door if anyone knows of one.

I had the same issue with my 65 300 L, which has basically the same package
tray. A 4 door tray came with the car, and as you said, it's to long. I was
however able to use the original to mark the extra material and remove it. I
used an air saw if I remember right. You could also use the metal end piece
as a guide to removing material until it fit. The metal strip had to be
spread some to fit over the newly shaped package tray edge. It worked out
well in my car.

Hi all - I’m looking for a replacement rear package shelf for my ’66 300 2
door hardtop. The 2 door versions are narrower (rear window to seat back)
than those for a ’66 4 door. For the 2 door cars, they were molded cardboard
and tend to disintegrate into unobtainium today. The 4 door package shelves
are molded fibreglass, but are too wide (rear window to seat back) to fit
the two door hardtops.

If anyone has one to sell, or knows a source, please let me know. I’ve
already talked to Murray Park. Since other ’66 C bodies had the same faux
convertible roofline, their package shelves should work too? Even a not so
good one that’s intact could be refinished, or serve as a pattern for a 3D
printed prototype.

I just had my seats redone with Legendary’s pearlescent upholstery and the
interior looks like new, except for the shelf. The previous owner had
wrapped the shelf in black cloth; when I removed it, what was left of the
original shelf dissolved into yellow dust.

Thanks. Let’s hope it really is a happy new year for all of us!
