Yes there is a record of this car.  It was originally listed as being owned by Bruce Williams of Florida.  The car came from the factory as a white G convertible with the normal tan interior.  No wire wheels either.

I see you asked the seller for pic of the data plate. The only 888 300G that I’ve ever seen in person is PJ Ehmann’s red convertible with a black interior at the Pocono meet in what I think was the spring/summer of 1977. The seat inserts in his car did not have the small embossed “waffles” like the the regular production G’s had and were just smooth leather. I don’t know if that was de rigueur for the 888 cars but I will say it was jarringly (and beautifully) simple and looked like something that would have come from Italy, not 1961 Detroit.
