Re: {Chrysler 300} Oil Breather Unit

That is nothing more than a standard breather/filler cap with a hose bung on it. Why do you think you need to replace it?  If the steel wool inside is sludged soak it in kerosene.

You folks call it a PCV, but I still believe I have Breather element.   I hope this picture comes through.   There is no valve that rattles in this thing, it is an element filled with a fibrous material.

I have wondered about this. The '57 was supposed to have some kind of Clean-Air package on it in California.  My '57 was delivered in California and no evidence of crankcase venting or carburator venting was ever mentioned or found.  I beleive by '65 PCV's were installed ia all cars.  Was your device ever connected to a PCV valve?  I had a relative who had a patent on PCV valve that made him wealthy!

Hey folks,
My 1965 Chrysler 300 originates from South San Fransisco, CA.  As a result, it has a connecting hose from the air cleaner to the valve cover breather element, and the element has a nub to attach.   I cannot find this breather with the nub marketed.  While I have soaked the breather element in cleaner, I am concerned about how well it is working.  Any ideas or known manufacturers for this element?
