RE: {Chrysler 300} 300 G at Mecum

Wonder if the cinnamon G from Bachelor in Paradise still exists.  https://pics.imcdb.org/4691/BachelorParadise00053.jpg

Would be nice to think Lana Turner kept it.

Not to beat a dead horse, but I have a very late build 1961 G coupe (it's like the third last one listed in our Club listing of cars accounted for) which I've owned since 1980. It does have the copper tubes running under the ram manifolds. Given the condition the car was in when I purchased it, I don't believe it had been apart previously. Although I can't say with certainty, I also think my car came that way. I don't know if it matters but it is a non-A/C car.

Also, the Mecum G convert was not a modified color. According to the data plate, the car is coded RR1 which is for cinnamon. The photos show what cinnamon color from 1961 looks like. It's a metallic color that can actually look much different in the sun than the shade. I know it was described as "bronze" on Mecum's website but it appears to be properly painted cinnamon, correct for that car if the body plate is proper. I believe Gloria indicated that someplace previously when this discussion started. In fact, in the Club's list of 300 G's accounted for, it is the ONLY cinnamon G convert listed with a special order "888" interior. Maybe if it had been advertised accordingly, possibly 1 of 1, it would have brought more $$. Who knows what motivates the bidders at the big auctions. Of the roughly 125 300 G converts listed in our Club as accounted for, there are only 8 or 9 that are cinnamon and one of those is listed as having been junked many years ago. By far the rarest of the 4 standard colors.

My Non-A/C F has clutch fan with the correct original style clutch. My '60 NY wagon has the same setup but with a fan shroud since it has A/C. I'm pretty sure the fan clutch was standard on an F regardless. I don't know on the G.

Hi Val,

I'm sure Gil added it just because he could, and the car runs cooler. I've done the same on my non-a/c 300-F.

If no A/C, then why the 7 blade fan and clutch  ?

John, et al,

Attached are several reference pictures I’ve used over the years.  I agree with Noel, the dent on the air cleaner facing the side is only on the driver side.  I’m in the middle of a bathroom remodel and should have looked at it closer before I responded.  The attached photos are of great help and can answer many questions.
