RE: {Chrysler 300} C300 headlights

Correction:

Parking lights and nearly all other electrical lights and deices in the 1955 C-300 are protected by 10-50-Amp circuit breakers. The only fuses shown in the Service Manual are a 14-Amp for the radio and a 3-Amp for the clock. Your notes indicate +6VDC is always present at the light switch. A yellow wire runs from the "H" slot on the headlight switch to the dimmer switch if you want to trace the power. You might check to see if you can get a high-beam light on the panel. If so, this indicates power is getting to the dimmer switch. From the dimmer switch, two separate wires go to the terminal block and thence to the two sealed beams. It seems extremely unlikely that both wires would fail. I can't recall how the sealed beams get their critical grounds but that should be checked out. It seems each headlight connector has a short pigtail with a ring-eye terminal that is fastened to a suitable place on the body, frame or headlight door.

Check both high & low beam to determine if the problem is at the dimmer switch. If neither hi nor low beams work, the problem may be failed headlight contacts or breaker in the headlight switch. Other: Make sure terminal block for all front-end lights is clear A short there (or elsewhere) would take out the breaker in the headlight switch. Park lights are protected with a fuse.
