On Behalf Of Justin I Hi Everyone, It's my understanding that '64 Chryslers did not have vented tanks, and hence require a vented gas cap. It is also my understanding that vented caps contain one-way check
valves to prevent the tank collapsing under vacuum, but do not let vapors escape, so the cap will not relieve pressure buildup. I've recently been working on a '64 (new fuel pump and new fuel lines) and I am surprised by the pressure that seems to build in
the tank, especially on a warm day. It's enough to blow the gas cap out of your hand if you are not prepared for it; don't have a firm grip. Is this normal? Thanks for any comments.
