Re: {Chrysler 300} Question about restoration and doors alignment

Rob,

I'm not an E expert, and suggest you reach out to our Club's E Consultant, Bob Brown, with specific questions you may have about this car. At the recent Iola, Wisconsin car show, Bob displayed his white E coupe and black E convertible at his Mopar tent.

Did your inspector confirm the correct E carbs and radiator? -

• Front carb - Carter AFB 2798S
• Rear carb - Carter AFB 2799S
• Radiator - 1832562 is the correct E radiator; the one in this car appears to be a later year production, looking at the stamped number in the photo.
• The convertible top appears to be a fabric (Haartz?) top that doesn't exhibit a concours quality fit. Chrysler only offered vinyl convertible tops, so this is aftermarket. And I don't know if tan was an available '59 convertible top color. This color was not offered on the 1960 Chrysler convertibles.
• You're probably aware that the 300-Es were fitted with 14" tires (9.00x14 tire size) and hubcaps with a black painted center and gear with plastic 300 red/white/blue disc in the center. So, the 15" wire wheels and tires on this car are aftermarket. 
• I can't tell from the dealer's photos whether the small round disc on the front of the hood is an "E" (as is correct for '59 and as is seen on this car's trunk), or if it is a "300" as is found on the '57 C and '58 D. These "E" emblems are not being reproduced.

Other of our Club members are far more knowledgeable about the E than I am.  Good luck on your due diligence!
