Re: {Chrysler 300} 1957 Chrysler Parts Master

I own a 57 300 and bought the same dealers manual Darrin refers too. It is a comprehensive manual that covers 55 – 58, 4” to 5” thick with red hard bound covers, metal edging, also an intricate adjustable/expandable metal hinge to handle new sheets being added. Nothing made like that today and it is US made. I found it to be quite useful. The transmission section was notably well used, oil smudged pages. I would jump on it and buy before it gone.

Depending on how a dealership used these books, additional “treasures” may be included - so look carefully!  I bought one on a whim 35 years ago (already had the 1964 reissue) and discovered when I got it home that there was also an early 1960s factory accessory catalog and set of carpet samples in the binder. Those alone were worth the purchase price.

This book is a 'must have' for anyone restoring a late 50s Chrysler product. It is, by far, the most reliable source of information, and gives you the opportunity to cross-reference parts to other makes and years. The book was re-issued in May 1964 in a bound copy with updates included.

Hello all-

Came across a great deal on a 1955-58 Chrysler Parts Master,  This Parts Manual is about 5 inches thick and has all the pages and the red binder intact.  Can anyone speak to the accuracy and coverage of a three year parts manual when the body and engines changed annually and particularly between 56 and 57?  Have owners of a 57 300C found it useful as it appears to cover all MOPAR divisions?  Is there a better parts source reference book for 1957 Chrysler and/or 300 letter cars in particular for 57 (or 57-58)?  Or does anyone use these old books in today's world??

Thanks,

Darrin Bailey
