{Chrysler 300} Hood latch cable 59 300E

Hello Chrysler Wizards,

Last week I pulled my hood latch on my 1959

Chrysler 300 E and it let go...the cable separated

from the handle.

I am seeking advice on best way to repair this cable latch.

Do I need a new cable assembly or can I repair this one?

Who can I buy this from?

I'm not sure how the latch even works...it seems like the cable

when tight holds the hood down firm...one once it's released

the second latch holds the hood down...if I drive like this

it will only have the secondary latch which is not firm and

will vibrate in wind.

And suggestions how to approach this issue is appreciated?
