Re: {Chrysler 300} SEM "Palomino" Interior Paint & Kick Panel Question

Hi  Rich, my 1964 black 300K interior color was white originally, so the belts should be what color? Now Gray and look original.

Rich’s Roman Red Ram Rag 300K

Black leather interior, so black belts.  I could live with red belts.

Does anyone know what color the seat belt webbing is on a 1964 K ? My 64 belts are gray, probably dealer installed when new?

Hi Tom, The seat belts should be black - they turn color with age. Believe that I had “Snnake Oil” do mine. Can find info if you need it.

I too have a question about 1962 300H interiors. I am restoring and installing front seat belts. What is proper - black or tan nylon belts (and if tan do you have a recommendation)? Thanks,

Subject: {Chrysler 300} SEM "Palomino" Interior Paint & Kick Panel Question

300ers -

I wanted to share what I consider one of the best matches to the "tan" interior color on my 62 300H (may be applicable to other years).

I've spent the better part of a year looking for something close color-wise from major spray paint manufacturers and retailers (Menards, Lowes, Home Depot) without much success and today I decided to stop at a paint store/supplier to order a custom mix.  When I showed Tom (sales rep at Colorvision Omaha - https://www.color-vision.biz/) sample pictures of the interior, he recommended SEM "Palomino" which was shelf-stock!

I'm super happy with the results - near spot-on.

Recently, I happened to source a set of vinyl grain-textured kick panels from a donor '61 Newport in Nebraska.  I was surprised to find that they were metal stampings vs. the plastic kick panels that were in my 300H.  Which one is correct?  Did Chrysler change to plastic vs. metal like GM did between 67 and 68 model years?  Are the plastic kick panels after market?

Thanks,

Kurt
