{Chrysler 300} G dash protection

Now that I'm out of the cold, dark, Northeast and in the bright, hot, sun of the south, I'm wondering what others in sunny climes use for dash pad protection.  Any hints appreciated.
I found that Rock Auto actually has a carpet pad made by Dash Designs for the 70 300, so I already ordered one of those.  No love going back to 61 for the G.  ;-(
Trying to attend as many shows as possible back in New England, I noticed that my black carpets and the back panel behind the rear seat backs have faded, and even the Goer's leather seat covers I put on back in the day are lighter than they used to be.  Makes me a bit concerned having that happen in MA.  What will happen in TX??????  I better start applying the leather conditioner to both the G and the Hurst while it's still early Spring!
I have a friend with an antique (80's) BMW with a black vinyl dash, and he has had success using a product originally targeted for 'tire black' applications on his dash.  Naturally, I'm afraid to put anything on my original dash pad for fear of dissolving or discoloring it.  Having put new dash pads on both my 55 and 57 300's back in the day, that is one job on the G that I want to avoid at all costs.
