The problem is that they will send a fake check and you cash it at your bank. Then your bank finds out it's fake and then come after you. As long as you still have the car, it's not a problem other than the hassle. Someone posted a 300F they were parting out on Facebook yesterday and it's a car being restored in Europe. It was easy to recognize because it was white with a black top. Same with parts, if you post a wanted ad, people will contact you saying they have the parts. Even if they send you pictures, they probably just took them from someone else's listing. Best to do a google image search to see if they're out there somewhere.

I asked him to send me his phone number and address so that I may send him photos. That may have spooked him for he did not reply.

How did he find out about my ad?
