Re: {Chrysler 300} California Ram K air cleaner

Here's a Ram K with a breather hose on the left air cleaner. Supposedly the car has a 440 in it and other mods so not sure if it's original or not.

engine.pdf (jholst.net)  Page 19  The text does not read like it was written specifically for a ram engine.  You need to hear from someone with an OEM CA emissions engine.

I thought the PCV would have connected to the nipple on the balance tube.

The service manual shows the suction tube to the PCV connected to a carb.  Our car has a later engine with a PCV and no connection to filter the fresh air intake through the air cleaner—just the crude filter/strainer on the opposite valve cover.

Our loaded red ram rag was delivered new in Memphis—presumably to Elvis or some other rock star, NASCAR driver or whiskey runner.  No provenance, unfortunately.

Anyone have a Ram K that was sold new in California? The parts book lists a specific air cleaner for that application. I would assume it has a nipple on the side of the lid to fit a hose going to the breather to complete the closed crankcase ventilation system.

Thanks, Nick
