Re: {Chrysler 300} 300F Steering wheel

Looks nice. Easier to do on those wheels without the clear sections.

There are other people doing 300F wheels. I believe the guy in Europe casts the whole wheel in clear and then paints the colored section.

Dennis Crooks, cast each part separately, like the factory did. This gives the colored part the correct marbled look. My 300F wheel had to be done twice. The one on my wagon, which is supposed to be charcoal colored, came out too light so I might as well have had it done the cheaper way.

Here are pictures of the 300F wheel, before and after. I used a spare wheel I had that was missing most of the clear. The first time he did it, the chrome rim inside the top wasn't centered in the clear plastic.

Here are pictures of the Town & Country wheel. The color on these generally matches the lower dash color. It doesn't look bad in the car as it matches the silver color in the door panels. But I still wish it had been done right. He didn't want to do this color in the first place.

Hello,

I had mine restored by the gentleman that painted my car.  You can see the before and after picture and I will have the car at Hershey Pennsylvania next month.  Don't know how long it will last, installed February for $600 or so plus materials.

The price goes up every year. I paid $2000 in 2016 for my 300F. Then paid $2200 for the wheel in my 1960 New Yorker in 2020.

He did mine as well about 6 years ago. And looks fantastic it really finishes off the looks with the dash.  It's worth the $.   Mine was about $1800.

Hi Tony,

One often used source is Dennis Crooks at Quality Restorations, in CA, who's been restoring these wheels for 30 years. But, he's expensive - $2,000+ currently -

He restored my F wheel back in '01 and it still looks as new. I'm sure you'll receive other members' suggestions!
