Re: {Chrysler 300} Epoxy over spoke ends OEM wire wheels

agree , silicone will flex , and seal , epoxy will crack with normal spike movement . It is rigid  . Yes critical to have finished curing and clean surface
“Flexible epoxy “ big $ and not very good . Been there

I have four Chryslers with factory wires.  Three of them I run tubes in just for safety regarding leaks.  I do have one set on our '55 T&C that when the wheels were restored, they used a silicone sealer to cover all of the spokes.  When I took delivery, I was told not to mount tires for a few days to let the silicone set up.  That was almost 18 years ago with no issues.  I've recently replaced those bias tires, Remington L78x15 with 235x75x15 Diamond Back radials.  Once again zero problems.

So, I now have four Chryslers with factory wires and three of them have DB radials.  They are great and well worth the $$ IMO.  Soon the 300C will have a new set of DBs.  I've also noted inflation pressure comments so here is what I've been told and what I do.  I purchase all of my DB tires through Custom Tires, Custom Wheels, Wheel and Tire Packages, Chrome Rims for your Car, Truck, or SUV from Performance Plus Wheel and Tire (performanceplustire.com)  They inflate to 40psi and that works well for me.

Asking the Great Wide 300 Nation about their experience with OEM wire wheels and the use of epoxy on the spoke ends to eliminate the need for an inner tube. Surely there's some experience out there with this idea?
