Cats need shelter regardless of whether they are feral or otherwise. Let the cats live where the cars are. Don't leave food and bedding outside. That won't feed anything but the wildlife.
Many shelters have feral cats for adoption that won't live with you in your house but will be relatively happy to live in your barn where you keep your cars and keep the rodents at Bay. I have many friends with barns that do this.
Cats are very much like people, if they don't like where they live and they don't like who they're living with they will move.

They are all Rodents, and as such, they must chew on non-edibles to wear their front teeth down. The teeth never stop growing and if not worn down, will grow into fangs and prevent them from eating at all. What worked for us was 2 outside cats, who lived around our shop. We had a garden shed addition where their food and beds were. Our cats died with-in a month or two of each other (14 & 17 Mo. old) We lived in the woods, so lots of critters.
Once the cats were no longer on the job, critters moved in. Rider Mowers had wiring chewed up. My Dakota damaged. My Ram damaged.
The Hurst ended up with a bushel of acorns all through it, Trunk, Glove box, under seats, plus under hood wiring chewed up.
The replacement kitty, was an inside girl, she stayed around the cabin and only went to the barn if we did. So, have 2 outside cats, so they have company, and have their beds and food outside so they are on the job 24/7. Good Luck, Ray
I am reasonably certain that what we call a groundhog or a marmot is really just a big fat squirrel that doesn't climb trees but has the same teeth and the same propensity to chew things that are not digestible.

I had forgotten there was a neutral safety switch in the circuit; that put an idea in my head.
A minute of background- We have a small garage with a lawn mower Bay Area attached to one end, an open carport on the other end, and an open carport along the front that Kya and I built. All of the attached areas have a gravel floor. Recently we had to kick out a groundhog that had made a burrow in the lawn mower bay. We have seen the groundhog hanging around the carport area (not far from Kya’s garden).
The evidence points to the groundhog. I found some chewed wires and a bent transmission dipstick. In fact on one car it also chewed some spark plug wires.
These wires were not like this when I was originally troubleshooting, so this is an ongoing active crime scene.
I know it sounds crazy but apparently groundhogs do this sometimes. We haven’t had an issue with any other critters doing this before now. We have some wires to replace… and a groundhog to get rid of... 😵💫

I would suspect the neutral safety switch or circuit.
It provides a ground for starter when car is in
Park or neutral.
