RE: {Chrysler 300} RE: 1964 door and trunk seals - questions

Fully agree with Carl's comments!  And, note, Quirey is open for us, as its customers, Mondays thru Thursdays, and not on Fridays. I also have a strong hunch that our Quirey friends were likely at the big Hershey Show this week, that ran thru yesterday.

We are human, we are all flawed and imperfect.  I’d cut QQQ some slack, and be grateful they exist at all.

Dave M.  is on the listserver and I’m sure will work out the issues.

Let’s support our vendors and club members as much as possible; 300s are a niche marque whose primary ownership demographic is aging and shrinking in number.   Just my 2c.

Carl, Good catch. My order to QQD stated W14 but my invoice shows W10 1960 to 1962.

I have to have a long talk with QQD.

Mt $1000 order had:

  1. Listed the above problem.
  2. A left side fender mirror gasket on the invoice but on in the box.
  3. An 18 foot seal of unknown part number that I could not match up in Goers catalog and not on the invoice.
  4. A SB1 door light switch that is so long the door will not close, obviously does not work on 1963-1964.

In addition, I called them on Thuraday after hours their time when I noted the missing part, and I emailed them later that night. I also called about 1 PM their time on Friday and I have not received an email or a call back.

Very, very frustrating.  Thanks again Carl for the catch. Now I know why that seal does not look correct.

James

James,  the 63-64 Chrysler trunk seal is part number TS3.  All of the Goers trunk seals began with a TS prefix.  I have no idea what W10 is.  The door weatherstrip is W14.  Look in the Goers catalog, page 13, for his drawing of W14 and match up to that.  Should be quite different than the trunk seal.

Anyone with a ’63 or ’64 that can help me with this?

I would like to ID which seal is what if I can. QQD did not return my phone call or email so I am stuck for now.

Thanks, James

Subject: {Chrysler 300} 1964 door and trunk seals - questions

Can anyone shed some light about replacement trunk and door seals?

I ordered a trunk seal and door seal from QQD.

They were not labeled. One looks like the trunk seal, but it also looks like the door seal. The other seal does not look like either the trunk or door.

The QQD numbers ordered are: W14 for the door seal and W10 for the trunk.

On the trunk seal one can see in the photo the MOPAR 2482-852 seal that came off this original car. But the Master Parts Book shows in group 23-63-172 that the seal is a 2422-201 and has an asterisk for a new part number and this MPB is March 1965 and supersedes March 1964. Now in the index it shows both a 2482-853 and a 2482-854 resolving to group 23-63-172. My March 1965 MPB only shows the 2422-201. No place shows the seal that was on the car. I also looked at 1963 since this is an early production car and nothing.

Has anyone run into this? Does anyone have some photos of their seals (original)?  Can any tell me if either of the seals in the photo are ones that you used and they seal well. Remember this is a driver that will see a lot of rain.

Attached are photos. Anyone who can shed any light on this, please chime in.

 Thank you, James
