Never heard of John Walter. However, as a rule I am always willing to accept a check and in fact I encourage senders and recipients alike. 

The risk in accepting a check is that it doesn't clear and amounts to an inconvenience, perhaps a $20 fee. On the other hand those who want a check from me are viewed with a jaundiced eye.

Has anybody heard of a John Walter supposedly from Pennsylvania? He says he will except the price I have offered he’s not a member of the club and he wants my address to send me a check. Sounds suspicious to me.
