This car has been through various auctions since 2005 per club records.  We show it as a white convertible (563).  Repainting a car for auction is not that unusual.  We also have a note that it had a 300D engine  It was in FL 2022 with a club member.

Data plate (fender tag) doesn’t belong on this car.  MDL 566 is a Coupe.  MDL 563 is a convertible.  VIN doesn’t match the Schedule date and option codes are all wrong.  It doesn’t mean that this isn’t a 300C convertible but it requires a very convincing “please explain” from the seller according to Wayne Graefen’s Handbook.

I believe the fender tag is for a loaded coupe.

 

I would like to receive a picture of a true ’57 300C convertible fender tag.
